Violent Soldier (Japan)
Play the retro games Violent Soldier (Japan) on your browser for free. In the side-scrolling space shooter Sinistron, the player is the only one who can stop a bio-organic being that is coming toward the solar system and eating planets. The game's most intriguing feature is the player's ship's adjustable armored jaws for attacking enemies.
In 1991, Sinistron, a side-scrolling assassin set inside a ship, was released for the TurboGrafx-16 in Japan under the title Violent Soldier. One interesting thing about the game is that the player's spaceship has metal jaws that can be moved around. When the player opens the ship's invincible jaws, they can fire farther, but the cabin is now open to attack. The ship's jaws can be closed (more damage) or half open (3-shot range) after getting a weapon upgrade.
A second improvement lets them be closed, half open, or fully open (5-shot range). The game has five powers. You can improve your weapons with the Vulcan cannon, the crystal pulse laser, and the CHAOS (self-guided) rockets. You can also speed up the ship and protect it with plasma droids, which are indestructible shells. Plasma droids can take damage from enemy fire and will even hurt enemies they touch.
The ship's charged attack send out a wave of force that hits all foes in a circle around it and hurts them. The six stages of the Sinistron get harder very quickly. Both of the last two rounds happened inside the Ministry. These are the stages: Engine Stage Gas Tunnel Stage Stage in Biology Core Stage Deep Space Stage Organ Stage.
